A failure is not always a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying.

B.F. SKINNER

Welcome

I know the search for the right therapist can be challenging, so I commend you on this undertaking! One of the absolute most important elements in my work is that my patients feel safe and connected. While technique and training are extremely important, the relationship between therapist and patient is the foundation for the work. Of course, in therapy, as in life, sometimes some discomfort is necessary for growth, but only with that underlying foundation of trust and safety between us. So, on that note, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

ABOUT

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I am a clinical psychologist with a psychodynamic orientation, and also have training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I work with patients experiencing difficulties in different domains of life. I also treat patients who have a diagnosis of mental illness, including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and psychotic disorders.  I am an EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist, with a specialty in trauma. Trauma is often not just one major event, but also the cumulative effect of both severe and more subtle traumas over a lifetime, ranging from emotional deprivation, bullying, and verbal abuse to rejections and perceived failures. Since I believe that trauma contributes to most issues, I work with a broad range of patients, including those struggling with interpersonal problems, having difficulty reaching personal and professional goals, or lacking confidence and positive self-image.

EXPERIENCE

My primary orientation is psychodynamic, and I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). EMDR allows for healing through the resolution of traumatic memories in the brain.I am also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), .including Exposure and Response Prevention treatment for OCD, and treatment for specific phobias such as fear of mice. I work with my patients to tailor treatment to their specific needs.
